The Typing Indicator

I'm being watched. Someone sees that I'm "typing..." and they're waiting. They're WAITING. What if I stop? What if I take too long? WHAT IF I SAY THE WRONG THING?!

Sometimes I just type random letters to show I'm "active" so they don't think I abandoned the conversation. I look busy. I'm actually hiding.

The Solution

I'll just call them. Oh wait, that's worse. At least typing lets me edit. Speaking is permanent. Absolutely not.
