The Dark Mode Lie

"Dark mode!" they said. "It's easier on your eyes!" They lied. It's still bright. It's gray at best. True black would destroy their precious brand colors anyway.

I've started wearing sunglasses indoors. My eye doctor is concerned. I tell him it's the modern lifestyle. He doesn't understand innovation.

The Future

I want a phone that's literally black. No light at all. Just a void I stare into while I scroll. That's true dark mode.
