The Mistake

I replied all to a company-wide email with "lol this is funny" instead of replying to just one person. Now 5,000 people think I'm hilarious. Or an idiot. Possibly both.

I followed up with "Wrong person!" but that also went to all 5,000 people. Then I tried to explain. More reply-alls. I think I just created a new email chain about me.

The Aftermath

HR sent me a memo about "email etiquette." The memo went to the whole company. I am now "that person" at work. I'll just work from home forever. Forever.
